Story: Centre Stage – SIDE B

Thank you to Christabel (@BreakingMadTeam & @Bye_Wig), Ayobola Deborah (@ayoboladeborah) & Aunty Yemi! This story is a work of fiction. The names, characters, places, incidents and dialogues are a figment of my imagination – most definitely inspired by God, and are not to be construed as real. Any resemblance to actual events, locales, organisations, persons living or dead, is entirely coincidental.  About Centre Stage: Sharon Starr, Nigeria’s biggest AfroPop sensation has gone missing just before the start of her international tour. A few days have quickly turned to months and nobody knows where she is, including her husband-manager, NJ The Producer. We find out more about the couple and their journey through the eyes and ears of Doctor Wole, their therapist. It’s an emotional journey that explores the impact of upbringing, perceptions, and beliefs and very importantly, if reconciliation can exist when trauma has been experienced. Read Side A HERE Track 6: Make The News II – Skit feat. VJ Lara “It’s your favourite girl, VJ Lara and boy has it been an eventful day in the world …

Life: Don’t Pity Me Because I’m Single – RELOADED

How I Ended It… “I’m genuinely enjoying where God has me right now and know that I’m not upset or frustrated, I’m just concerned that my singleness is a concern for some – but be assured that God has me! He knows what’s good for me.” 1st Corinthians 7 verse 25 – 38 The Message Version “The Master did not give explicit direction regarding virgins [the unmarried], but as one much experienced in the mercy of the Master and loyal to him all the way, you can trust my counsel. Because of the current pressures on us from all sides, I think it would probably be best to stay just as you are. Are you married? Stay married. Are you unmarried? Don’t get married. But there’s certainly no sin in getting married, whether you’re a virgin or not. All I am saying is that when you marry, you take on additional stress in an already stressful time, and I want to spare you if possible. I do want to point out, friends, that time is of …

Story: The Wedding Guest II Explained & the Original Ending

All scriptures mentioned in this post were taken from the New Living Translation unless indicated otherwise. Why I Wrote the Story Writing stories was never something I thought I’ll ever do, but here we are seven stories deep and by far this is the longest short story I’ve written and probably the most strategically written. I had been wanting to write this story for eight months before publishing it in January and each time I thought about writing part two it just never really happened; any ideas I had at the time weren’t the best and I had to stay true to myself – what ever I write I must enjoy reading and I didn’t enjoy the ideas I had. A year to the day that I published the first story is when God inspired me with this one and He gave me my first story where the characters have names and also ensured that all the names related to the story themes as done in the book of Hosea. Inspiration for the Story So …

Story: The Wedding Guest II

Thank you to Christabel (@BreakingMadTeam & @Bye_Wig), @Timidi.Photograpy, Namz (@JustForJoshDecorative) & my Parents for helping me out on things I wasn’t sure of. Read Part One Here: The Wedding Guest A story inspired by a handful of scriptures from the Bible. Different from my other stories, the characters have been given names you can call them by. Names that, well, tell their own stories. “But afterward the people will return and devote themselves to the Lord their God and to David’s descendant, their king. In the last days, they will tremble in awe of the Lord and of his goodness.” ~ Hosea 3:5 NLT Intro While preaching to the couple and their guests he caught another glimpse of him. “Why is this guy’s face so familiar?” he asked within himself. He looked away and continued. “And friends, family, our newly weds, Mr. & Mrs. Adetide-Cole and to myself also, God’s love has saved us from things we could never save ourselves from. By the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus, we have been called back to …

Story: The Wedding Guest Explained

So when I said I was going to explain the imagery in this story I didn’t actually realise how long it’ll take me to do and I also realised that everyone I spoke to about the story each had their different interpretations of the imagery used.  INSPIRED  BY PROVERBS CHAPTER 7 AND LIKE MY OTHER STORIES, THE CHARACTERS HAVE NOT BEEN GIVEN ANY NAMES. “For she has been the ruin of many; many men have been her victims. Her house is the road to the grave. Her bedroom is the den of death.” | Proverbs 7:26-27 NLT Her “She had planned for this day…” ~ Proverbs 7:12 “She is often in the streets and markets, soliciting at every corner.” “The dress would not be missed by male and female guests alike. She nicknamed the green dress her “jealousy-jealousy” dress – she would make the girls jealous and cause the guys to get jealous of one another. The knee-length dress was made for her petite frame; it was tight fitted and cut with a deep plunge line…” ~ Proverbs 7:10 “The woman approached him, …
