Story: The Wedding Guest II Explained & the Original Ending

All scriptures mentioned in this post were taken from the New Living Translation unless indicated otherwise. Why I Wrote the Story Writing stories was never something I thought I’ll ever do, but here we are seven stories deep and by far this is the longest short story I’ve written and probably the most strategically written. I had been wanting to write this story for eight months before publishing it in January and each time I thought about writing part two it just never really happened; any ideas I had at the time weren’t the best and I had to stay true to myself – what ever I write I must enjoy reading and I didn’t enjoy the ideas I had. A year to the day that I published the first story is when God inspired me with this one and He gave me my first story where the characters have names and also ensured that all the names related to the story themes as done in the book of Hosea. Inspiration for the Story So …

Story: The Wedding Guest II

Thank you to Christabel (@BreakingMadTeam & @Bye_Wig), @Timidi.Photograpy, Namz (@JustForJoshDecorative) & my Parents for helping me out on things I wasn’t sure of. Read Part One Here: The Wedding Guest A story inspired by a handful of scriptures from the Bible. Different from my other stories, the characters have been given names you can call them by. Names that, well, tell their own stories. “But afterward the people will return and devote themselves to the Lord their God and to David’s descendant, their king. In the last days, they will tremble in awe of the Lord and of his goodness.” ~ Hosea 3:5 NLT Intro While preaching to the couple and their guests he caught another glimpse of him. “Why is this guy’s face so familiar?” he asked within himself. He looked away and continued. “And friends, family, our newly weds, Mr. & Mrs. Adetide-Cole and to myself also, God’s love has saved us from things we could never save ourselves from. By the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus, we have been called back to …

Story: The Wedding Guest

Inspired  by Proverbs Chapter 7 and Like my other stories, the characters have not been given any names. Update 19.01.2018 – this story now has a part two. Read “The Wedding Guest 2” HERE. “For she has been the ruin of many; many men have been her victims. Her house is the road to the grave. Her bedroom is the den of death.” | Proverbs 7:26-27 NLT His ego would not let him say no to her. The whole night they had teased and flirted with each other it was bound to happen with the way she commanded his attention as she swayed her hips to every rhythm and beat that blared out of the banquet hall speakers. He wanted her. What he did not know was that this was all a part of her plan. Her She had planned for this day from the moment she received the invitation to attend this wedding.“Which mugu go be my victim?” She laughed as she put on her killer wedding outfit. The dress would not be missed by male …

Life: In Conclusion

In conclusion I am choosing to walk hand-in-hand with God and His purpose for my life. I am choosing, with His help, that in the coming year and years to come, I will start each day with my conclusion – my introduction and middle will eventually write themselves. “In conclusion…” That’s how most of my secondary school/GSCE essays ended. It was the beginning of the end, the part where I placed emphasis on the ‘argument’ I said I’ll prove in the introduction. The conclusion was also something we were usually told to write or brainstorm first – “think about how you’d like to end your essay, that tends to help with how you start your essay.” Most times, life is an essay and at this time of year a number of us are ‘proof reading’ our lives to ensure that all our A-grade points have been made and to be honest, it’s overwhelming. 365 days can often feel like the 2-hour GCSE Anthropology English exam in a dead-silent-smelly sports hall, on the hard plastic chairs, while …

Food: Bella’s Soup

I dedicate this post to my friend Bella, who has been asking me for this recipe (even though I sent it to her before lol). And talk about perfect timing, this is real comfort food for this kind of weather. That being said, the dish once known as “Sweet Potato Soup” will now be referred to as “Bella’s Soup”. So I first made this soup back in 2010 out of just wanting to experiment and it tasted great. Please note that there isn’t a “right” list of ingredients to use, it’s all down to preference BUT you will need sweet potatoes, everything else you’re permitted to remix. Ingredients: 2-3 Large Orange Sweet Potatoes Carrots (batons, diced, sliced…) 4 Chicken Breasts washed and sliced into strips (not too thinly; I sometimes use Beef, Lamb or Pork) Mixed Peppers Sweet Corn 2 stalks of Spring Onions (½ of a large White or Purple Onion will do) 4 tablespoons Olive Oil or Vegetable Oil Water Preferred Seasoning: 1 tablespoon Mixed Herbs 1 tablespoon of dried & ground Scotch Bonnet …

Life: The Birthday Recap – 25 & Counting

The month of May officially ended last week, it also means that my birthday celebrations have also officially ended. I turned the amazing age of 25, and to have that much life sitting under my belt, is somewhat hefty! I have to admit though, I don’t remember the last time I was so excited about a birthday like this one, I had no particular reason to be so excited but I was and I’m still excited at the fact that I am 25! Looking back on it, everything I had planned, to celebrate my birthday, actually happened! Proverbs 16 verse 3: “Put God in charge of your work, then what you’ve planned will take place.” I can only be grateful to God for allowing me the chance to celebrate my birthday and to do so in New York. Considering that so many of my close relatives and friends share the same birthday month with me, made it that much more exciting by the time my birthday came around. Every week in May I had something planned; at the start …
