Life: In Conclusion

In conclusion I am choosing to walk hand-in-hand with God and His purpose for my life. I am choosing, with His help, that in the coming year and years to come, I will start each day with my conclusion – my introduction and middle will eventually write themselves. “In conclusion…” That’s how most of my secondary school/GSCE essays ended. It was the beginning of the end, the part where I placed emphasis on the ‘argument’ I said I’ll prove in the introduction. The conclusion was also something we were usually told to write or brainstorm first – “think about how you’d like to end your essay, that tends to help with how you start your essay.” Most times, life is an essay and at this time of year a number of us are ‘proof reading’ our lives to ensure that all our A-grade points have been made and to be honest, it’s overwhelming. 365 days can often feel like the 2-hour GCSE Anthropology English exam in a dead-silent-smelly sports hall, on the hard plastic chairs, while …

Writing: I’ll Be Honest…

Over the past few days I’ve been reading Proverbs 10 and verse 11 really stood out to me and it pretty much says “The words of the godly lead to life…” If you’ve been following my blog you’d notice some inconsistency with how often I post and it has been stressing me. The verse really encouraged me, as opposed to convicting me, it brought reassurance that my words are worthwhile. They are worth writing, they are worth reading and they are worth being heard. So today, I really dedicate my blog back to God. I’ve done a lot of this blog out of my own strength and it hasn’t been bad, but it hasn’t been fun per se. …

Small Chops: I Still…

Small Chops: A Nigerian term for Canapés, Hors d’oeuvres and the like. Small Chops: Quick thoughts of mine It is easy to get carried away with the dealings of the day that they become the dealings of the week, soon they become the dealings of the month and before you know it, it’s “Happy New Year!” Yes, one must get on with the things that need to be done, but it’s important not to lose yourself in the daily dealings and doings of life. With so much going on for me, I’m having to remind myself that it’s important to still be me in it all. “It” includes being, A Daughter A Sister A Friend An Employee In all these things that require my attention, I must remember to still be me. The me God created me to be. “Me” includes, A child of God A Writer via this blog A Creative An Explorer Neither “it” nor “me” should suffer because one is given more attention than the other, instead I am to have my …
