Some Good News for you this Wednesday!! Firstly thank you all for your prayers and the donations made and thank God for His awesomeness and His love for this little lady. Prayers are still necessary as she remains under observation during her recovery period and also prayers for her family as they work through and in this situation. I pray God keeps her strong and healthy and that she’ll grown to tell many of the courage and faith God gave her at a tender age.* There were stories of her behaviour/attitude that will wow you! Check the update below!! Praise God!! 🙌🏾 *“Then he [Jesus] said, “…So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.” ~ ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18:3-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬ To read up on Nitwat’s story click here. Small Chops: The Gift of Community

Small Chops: A Nigerian term for Canapés, Hors d’oeuvres and the like. Small Chops: Quick thoughts of mine Taken from my IG Page (IG: @OlayideM), originally posted on 12 July 2017. An unexpected hour with my friend Nkechi had me ever grateful to God for the gift of Community. Community isn’t defined by proximity, but defined by a mutual value and appreciation of the gift. Don’t let social media fool you into believing your community is tight, true Community doesn’t require validation from likes, RTs and views. A few minutes on social media has never inspired or encouraged me (it’s done the opposite), a few minutes with true Community has made me feel I can do anything and everything. True Community will call you out about the worst version of you, and celebrate you at the same time. It will laugh with you, it will cry with you, it will pray with you (and especially for you) and more. True Community gets behind the scenes while being in front of the camera. It’s involved. True …

Life: For Niswat – Health Update

This update was shared on Facebook at the start of the month. Since the update below, Niswat appears to be in good spirits, although the side-effects of her treatments are beginning to show. Continue to pray for her, that God will keep her, speed up her recovery and continue to be her strength. The Nurses absolutely love her – they rush to see her at the start of their shifts. Signed @OlayideM Niswat Update Happy new year dear family and friends… I start this year with an update on Princess Niswat: Niswat managed to find a matching bone marrow donor! When I heard this news, I remembered some time last year when I asked Niswat what she wants to be when she grows up, and if she wants to be a Doctor..“Wataka kuwa nini ukiwa mkubwa? Doctor?” she said “aah ahh” (nop)“Nini basi?” (What then?) and she replied with sooo much pride and said “Fatma”.Fatma is Niswat’s eldest sister, and is Niswat’s matching donor! Fatma’s bone marrow will be used for Niswat’s treatment, but she will have …

For Niswat. You’re loved. 😘 UPDATE BELOW Hello, and a blessed Friday to all! I write this with a heart full of gratitude and the biggest smile on my face.. I wanted to let you all know that we reached, and even exceeded the overall target we set for Niswat’s fundraising. We have managed to raise $60,000! May God continue to abundantly bless you all and your families, in all that you do. With that said, we will be closing all accounts that were used to raise funds. As for the GoFundMe page, I will simply turn off the link for donations. The visas have been issued, and God willing, Niswat and her parents will be travelling to India next week. I can not thank YOU enough for all that you have done! The tweets, the facebook shares, the donations, and most importantly; your support and prayers! God willing, one day Niswat will be old enough to understand what she went through and how much people around the world really love and care for her. …

Life: For Niswat – Fundraising Medical Appeal

For Niswat. We met in Mombasa, when you were two. Full of life and a joy to be around. You sat with us young ladies as if we were age mates, Out on Bibi Blues’ shore front balcony as we got our henna done. While you laughed at my accent, I teased you for being an old woman in a small body. Full of life and a joy to be around. I recently asked what your name meant, I was told that it’s not common, it’s rare – it means “Great Women” My prayer is that you will live to be a Great Woman, Full of life and a joy to be around. Niswat is a four year old from Kenya, suffering from a rare condition called Aplastic Anaemia. As you can imagine, seeing and knowing that such a vibrant young child has this condition has been difficult for her family. Niswat will be having a bone marrow transplant in India and her family is hoping to raise $50,000 (5,000,000 Kenyan Shillings) towards the cost of her …
