Small Chops: The Gift of Community

Small Chops: A Nigerian term for Canapés, Hors d’oeuvres and the like.

Small Chops: Quick thoughts of mine

Taken from my IG Page (IG: @OlayideM), originally posted on 12 July 2017.

An unexpected hour with my friend Nkechi had me ever grateful to God for the gift of Community.

Community isn’t defined by proximity, but defined by a mutual value and appreciation of the gift.

Don’t let social media fool you into believing your community is tight, true Community doesn’t require validation from likes, RTs and views. A few minutes on social media has never inspired or encouraged me (it’s done the opposite), a few minutes with true Community has made me feel I can do anything and everything.

True Community will call you out about the worst version of you, and celebrate you at the same time. It will laugh with you, it will cry with you, it will pray with you (and especially for you) and more.

True Community gets behind the scenes while being in front of the camera. It’s involved.

True Community first started with God, Jesus & The Holy Spirit, how amazing it is that He, that They want us to experience such.

There’s a FULLNESS that comes from the Community that God GIVES YOU to ENJOY.

Enjoy + Fullness = Joyful, a Joyful Community of People.

To MY COMMUNITY, Thank YOU! (You all know yourselves).
