Faith: The Accent

“First pride, then the crash – the bigger the ego, the harder the fall.” – Proverbs 16 vs. 18 (The Message Version). Since being in America, one of my many “struggles” has been dealing with and confronting pride. It’s the accent! It’s gonna get me in troooooouuuuuubbbbblllllllleeeee! LOL! Never in my life have I had so much attention shown, with such little effort, all I need to say is “Hello” and that’s it! As much as I laugh and genuinely find some occasions really funny, I have found myself gradually enjoying the curiosity shown. My head has gotten a little heavy for my shoulders, giving way to my tongue making utterances God asked that I refrain from. PRIDE! A terrible thing and I am so grateful to God for showing me my true self and causing me to beg for a quick change, because quite frankly, I don’t want to “crash”. Pride has had me ignore God and enjoy the applause for myself, creating for myself an expectation that “I should be heard” – pride …

Faith: Church, Brunch & the Blind Man Part 2

If you’re just joining me on this eventful recital of  DearSunday: CCF, Brunch and the Blind Man, then catch up on Part 1 here. I liked the food, although the girlies weren’t convinced and questioned the stability of our server – the atmosphere was pleasant and I was full …

I’m back with another #TBT (#ThrowbackThursday) edition…no not because it was intentional, but because I’ve been ever so lazy with my blog (amongst many other things), and it seemed ok that this post could be considered as a throwback…I mean the events mentioned in this post took place almost 8 WEEKS AGO! (*side eye*)… so here it goes! Sunday 15th September 2013: With every intention of getting to church on time, I got to church late – shame! But Sunday 15th September 2013 was a God-designed day – as with every day, but this day I acknowledged His brilliance! I went to Christ Crucified Fellowship for the first time, taking the A Train [which seemed like the longest train journey ever!] and almost an hour late I contemplated getting off the train and heading back home! Life Thought: Isn’t it interesting that a place seems far when you’ve never been there or have no idea where it is you’re going and then all of a sudden doubt settles in? I was glad that I stayed …
